Mat Classes

Fifty minute Pilates mat classes are designed to help the individual develop core strength, movement control, increase flexibility and improve posture. Students will be guided through a full range of traditional Pilates exercises that emphasize precise sequencing of movement and proper alignment. More efficient movement patterns are taught in many different positions such as seated, lying down, all fours and standing. Proper use of the breath to facilitate movement from the core will be emphasized.

Core Barre Classes

Core Barre is a high energy, low impact, fat burning workout. Its focus is on intensive isometric movements that sculpt the thighs, tone and firm the buttocks, flatten the abdominals and define the arms. Focused stretching to lengthen, tone and increase flexibility compliments a total body workout. Core Barre incorporates current biomechanical principles and is a fusion of Pilates, Ballet and general fitness concepts. It is available to all fitness levels and perfect for those that safely want to change their appearance and have fun doing so! See and feel results within just a few classes!

EXO Chair Classes

Modified from Joseph Pilates original design, this equipment delivers a unique and fun, full-body workout to a maximum of four students. Balanced Body has added a functional resistance kit comprised of elastic tubing that will give you a host of new exercises not possible with any other chair - including many that could previously be done only on a Reformer. Please check the online schedule for the most current days and times.

Group Reformer Classes

A maximum of four students are guided through a full body workout on Pilates reformers, an apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates consisting of springs and pulleys on which a client uses various levels of resistance to strengthen, stretch and control the body while performing traditional Pilates exercises. Allowing full range of motion on a variety of movement planes, group Reformer classes will help you develop greater strength, ease of motion, improved balance and bone density. Each class will meet for fifty minutes.
